Busoni Plays Rigoletto Paraphrase 1905

So interesting to hear how pianists of yesteryear interpreted piano works.
What we now consider "liberties" were then quite fine, even by composers playing their own pieces.

Busoni (1866-1924) had fabulous technique, was virtually on a par with Horowitz (before there was a Horowitz), and Busoni's style and personality certainly comes through in this early recording when he was in his prime. Enjoy.
