Mozart analysis... need suggestions!
on: April 11, 2012, 03:45:06 PM
For an upcoming university course I'm going to have to pick Mozart K491 - piano concerto no 24 in c minor - to bits and write essays about whatever survives.

Having listened to it and not especially liking it, frankly I think that's the best thing that could happen to it... however, I'm looking for suggestions on any reference books or articles which might provide background material or ideas, both in terms of musical structure and performance, so I can do some pre-course reading prior to sharpening my scalpel.

Thanks!

your university library system should have database subscritpions, i'd be shocked if it wasn't written about in one of the music journals, i used to use JSTOR quite a bit for advanced theory and music history papers and such i'd start there.
