I consider myself unbelievably lucky to have had very minimal conventional musical education. The prospect of ending up like most of the academic and professional players I have known would be altogether too terrible to contemplate. But yes, the community here at present does seem very positive and constructive, with a very broad range of musical taste, direction and talent.
