Yamaha C1 with Piano disc has shut down keys.
on: April 15, 2012, 10:39:36 AM
My piano disc PDS-128plus seems to be faulty on my Yamaha C1 . I pushed the test button at the back, it played some keys through the test and seemed to bang others untill it stopped and it caused some keys to shut down. I have tried the reset and test button again after switching the power off etc. but it doent do anything now. The keys are still jammed down. Fuses etc are OK. Can any body give me advise on releasing the keys or do I have no option to get in a tech.

mate, best to call Yamaha technician from where the shop you bought from. If not open up the piano and check the mechanisum at your own risk.

Can the piano disc be easily disconected, has it was faulty anyway? It is causing the keys to lock down.

I've seen this happen on pianos without any Piano disc installed. Such pianos were not Yamahas, so I don't think the problem is exclusive to Yamaha - Piano disc. The Piano disc may be ceasing to work because of a mechanical malfunction with the piano.
Call your tech to get the piano checked out. If you are not experienced in fixing such a problem, best thing is to call your tech. Meddling with the action could potentially cost you more damage then if you called a tech in the first place.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
