Quick background of myself - I am now in college and looking to learn how to play piano. I do not play regularly anymore, but I have played trumpet for the past 9 years and was serious about it to the point where I almost chose to major in Music heading into college, but ended up not having the passion.
Recently, I heard a piece played on piano that I just had to learn to play myself, so I hacked away for two weeks for hours a day with almost no piano experience and have finally learned the piece, but that's about all I can do. I want to learn new music, but I don't want to have to take baby steps for two weeks just to learn simple pieces!
What books would you recommend I get? I downloaded some technical study books and what not online, but I feel as though I do not have a set path to growth - I am just playing what feels like is helping me improve.
EDIT: I was looking for some books online and came across "Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course" - is anyone familiar with this and would this be a good start? Or are there better options?
