I've always thought Liszt's transcriptions went above and beyond to capture the sounds of non-piano repertoire (Especially that transcription of "Liebestod" from Tristan and Isolde, it's awesome ). I've wondered how Bruch would sound on piano if Liszt transcribed it...sigh...one can dream right?
