Transcendental Etude in C Preludio
on: September 26, 2004, 01:04:48 PM
This piece... I'm speechless... Such power.... OMG THIS IS LIEK TEH SH!IT!

How more difficult would this piece rate compared to Fantasie Impromptu? How high about grade 8-ish?

It is really short and I think that is a major advantage if I wanna learn it. :P

Sorry for this lame thread. :)

It took about a week practicing half an hour a day.

Grade 7-ish.

Just be careful.  It runs away without you knowing it.
We must do,  we shall do!!!

I found it really hard until I tried it with Busoni's fingering.  now it just flows easily!  Fantasy Impromptu is much more difficult.  It's a nice piece to warm up with- the whole thing is a crescendo.

Sheesh, why would anyone waste their time with this piece - unless you are trying to prove a point, or you're making a CD of the complete etudes.  Other than that... there's better music out there.
A modern house without a flush toilet... uncanny.

Quiet allchopin, it's a GREAT piece!
Pseudopianist, This is the book I bought:

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0486258157/qid=1096242501/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/104-5842781-4183159?v=glance&s=books

it is edited by Ferruccio Busoni, and has all three settings of Liszt's etudes.  DEFINITELY worth the money.

Allchopin: What do you mean?  :D It is a really great piece. So short and still so perfect. ;)

Don: I'll check out that book, I won't be able to play all the etudes for a while so maybe I should wait. :p Thanks tho
