teachers, what do you think...
on: May 01, 2012, 11:41:19 AM
is it possible to bring adult to concert pianist level providing he plays
a lot in his youth for around 10 years then had a break for about 15 years with
on and off playing incidents? Now he has started practicing since 5 years
but he asked me if teacher could be of any help at this stage to speed it up everything.
Any experience of case like this you guys had or any real life examples?
thanks

There is indeed a hope that he can easily gain his speed as he use to have before if he keeps on practicing under good guidance..

No, it is not correct. He started his concert life much earlier, when moved to Moscow to study in the Conservatory (before then he did not have any formal music education and was self taught).
In his 30s he was already famous.
