Ear Training for pianists
on: May 06, 2012, 11:54:13 AM
Hi all,
I have put up a web site aimed to help pianists develop their relative/absolute pitch, and the relationship between the ear and the eyes in context of the keyboard.
I would love to here some feedback, here's the link:
https://earpiano.freehostingcloud.com/keyboard.html
Thanks in advance,
Elad.

Looks like it could be useful. It seems to teach relative pitch rather than absolute- but then again we don't really know how to teach perfect pitch.
I saw the "mindfuck" option and decided to go check it out. If you want to do that more, you could have an option of "challenge" within the "mindfuck" category, where the person has to name all the notes in the chord.
I'm also looking forward to see what you do with the clusters!

hey, thats a great idea! thanks for the feedback.
As for absolute pitch, it has actually been proven to be a matter of critical age, so if your'e older then say 8 yrs old, that's way too late. But I think that it might prove effective on absolute pitch with children, should they not get extremely bored with this.

I always wonder whether these types of things teach, or test. I suspect that they test an ability. I don't see how it does do any training.
