Help with Schumann's Traumes wirren
on: May 06, 2012, 04:44:55 PM
Hi,
i started the whole fantasiestucke op.12 from Schumann this year, and i'm now on Traumes Wirren and i seem to have reach quite a wall...   :'(

It's still very early and i'm working it very slowly but i find very hard to keep the "musicality" at slow tempo...

The part where i find the most difficulties is the part right after the "chords part"... For some reason i can't seem to "print" in my brain the different gaps (because there are a lot of jumps) between my hands...

Has anyone worked this piece before and would have some tips to give me?

Thanks a lot and forgive my english (i hope what i wrote is understandable  ::) )

Steone.
Currently woking on :
- 8 fantaisiestucke op.12 (Schumann)
- Nocturnes op.27 n°1&2 (Chopin)
- Les cloches de Genève from "Année de pèlerinage" (Liszt)
- Chaconne in G major HWV 435 (Handel)

At the outset fix your total hands into the piano. You must be perfect, steady in every note. Then go for the jump.

Thanks for your tip, i've already done that (and still doing) and it helps a lot yes. I've also extended this work on the broken chords that i put in "chord form".... This way it helps me even better to memorize the inprint of this part.
