I answered it but found it difficult to answer and I fear my answers are probably misleading. As an improviser I haven't done much that could be called "practice" at all for years. For instance, I gave an answer of one hour a week as my present level, which is strictly true, as representing true technical practice on my clavier. No mention is made of the many hours I spend at the actual piano improvising or playing real music.

Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.
