What makes Brahms Op 116-2 difficult?
on: May 16, 2012, 03:50:43 PM
I have just finished to polish this piece, and learn it and play it properly took me more time than I Expected.
IŽd like to know your opinions about this beautiful and complicated piece.
Thanks.
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

What makes Brahms Op 116-2 difficult?
Command over the sound, as with virtually his whole output, so it won't be too thick. Besides, this piece is in very delicate autumn mood. The kind of sound I personally strive for in Brahms is this: Brahms Op.116 no.2- Gilels.
