Thalberg Piano Concerto in F Minor
on: May 18, 2012, 06:57:33 PM
Since I've heard this concerto on YouTube some while ago, I decided that I would learn it. 8)

https://imslp.org/wiki/Piano_Concerto,_Op.5_%28Thalberg,_Sigismond%29

I used this score for practice, finally took it to my teacher, and played it for her.
Then, I realized something: neither of us had the music for the orchestra part, or the piano arrangement of it!

I've searched the internet and various online music libraries, but wasn't successful.
Even the music stores in my area didn't have it, and they said that his music is out of print.
I've checked Amazon.com, but they only had recordings of the concerto, not the score. :-\
I've also sent an email to the Sigismund Thalberg International Study Centre asking how and where I could get the music, but got no reply. ???

After practising this concerto for some time, I've become quite attached to it. I hope to perform it in a local concerto competition in the future, but I'm not sure as to how.

Can anyone help me?

The full score is held at the Fleisher Collection.

No two piano arrangement exists as far as I am aware.

Congratulations on a superb choice.

Thank you Thal! :D

I can continue with the concerto now that I know I can actually do something with it. ;D
