for ABRSM do you have to start at Grade 1?

or can you sign up to take the test at any level you think you are capable of?

I suggest you check the rules on their website.  My understanding from a quick squizz is that you can start anywhere, but you need to have Grade 5 theory under you belt to sit any of the higher grades in performance.

or grade 5 performance in the Jazz syllabus - so clearly Jazz is the higher art form  ;D
