Pieces of Rach 2
on: June 06, 2012, 08:14:48 PM
No doubt it is my favorite concerto (call me cliche, but it's impossible for me to deny); and though the whole thing is just a wonderful experience, there are certain parts that just pull at your heart strings more than the others.

For me it's the final 2 minutes of the 2nd Movement, it's so mad dreamy/swoony/melancholy, it always gets to me no mater when I listen to it.

Anyone have  certain portions in the piece that give them a bigger rush than the others?

The 2nd movement in its entirety is just amazing.  I prefer it over the 1st and 3rd movement by far.

In particular, I enjoy the part leading up to where the 2nd movement increases in speed.  The last 2 minutes are unreal, too.  Rachmaninoff is pure genius.
