Warning, though. Some Austrians have proven a little troublesome to pregnant dog slap down in the past.

There is a thread around that explored that.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Ooooh that's really nice. *** the 8000... euros? But give me that sexy bosey.

...but wait, I hardly know much Beethoven yet. Will they accept Fur Elise o___o

Edit: what, they don't accept the Op 14 sonatas? But they're so nice  :'( Wow the required repertoire is crazy  :o
Currently learning -

- Bach: P&F in F Minor (WTC 2)
- Chopin: Etude, Op. 25, No. 5
- Beethoven: Sonata, Op. 31, No. 3
- Scriabin: Two Poems, Op. 32
- Debussy: Prelude Bk II No. 3

But give me that sexy bosey.

As Oscar Wilde once said.  ;D

As for Fuer Elise, they have a required list, and it doesn't make the cut.

Even more if you post the whole link:

 ;D
what does their difficulty scale rate on,i.e  i see 5 symbols, is it a 5 of 5? these prestegious old competitions named after the big master composers where you play only their works tend to be the most nitpickey bunch, i would think it akin to or on par (maybe similar but not as bad) as the chopin crowd.

i'd love to watch  the thing though, heck even just prelims would be pretty amazing but to be in vienna for finals, i mean without the piano envy, or the skillz envy, it sounds like it would be a pretty amazing deal.

still talk about a sweet ass piano! and that the competition is played exclusively n bosey's is nice too.

are there any others that also give away a big concert grand as the gp? i don't see the steinway kiddos playing the game but man can you imagne winning a shigeru kawai grand or even a kawai ex? or a bechstein  etc etc....

I wonder if they have Rachmaninoff or Scriabin competitions.
