Newbie Question
on: June 26, 2012, 02:53:26 AM
Hi guys,

My apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I am an adult (well, 19 years old, not much of an adult) hoping to get started with learning how to play the piano. At the moment, I don't have the cash to buy a full-out acoustic piano/keyboard, my budget is about $300.

So, I know you guys must get dozens of these questions, but I need some help on deciding what keyboard I should get.

I've narrowed my choices down to two keyboards. The YPG-235 and the M-Audio Keystation 88es USB MIDI Keyboard Controller. One is a 76-key keyboard, the other is an 88-key midi controller (as stated).

I've researched this question for hours, and many people state that buying a full-out 88-key keyboard that is weighted is best. However, from what I understand, a MIDI-controller requires the use of a computer at all times (?) Not sure.

Any help would be appreciated!
