Repertoire Recommendations&Entrance Exams
on: October 03, 2004, 09:38:21 PM
Hello,
I'm a 17 year old piano student from Turkey. Next semester I'm thinking of studying abroad, probably in Germany. This semester I'm playing:
- Rameau - 4 pieces from Suite in G
- Rachmaninoff - Etude tableaux - Op.39 No.1
- Beethoven - Sonata Op.110 No.31
- Chopin - 3 Mazurkas
- Balakirev - Islamey
Also my repertoire includes pieces like:
- Bach-Busoni - Chaconne
- Chopin - Etudes Op.10 No.1,2,4,5 Op.25 No.6,11
- Chopin - Ballade No.3
- Chopin - Scherzo No.3
- Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody No.13 (with my own cadenza)
- Liszt - Etude d'execution transcendante No.4 "Mazeppa"
- Prokofiev - Sonata No.3
- Mozart - Piano Concerto No.23 A Major
- Grieg - Piano Concerto A minor
So are there any suggestions to improve my repertoire? Also I'd appreciate help about schools in Germany. I'm looking for a Russian teacher because I speak Russian fluently. I'm thinking of going to Germany maybe in January for the exams. I may go to Berlin at first. Are there any other schools you advice?
Thank you all very much in advance.
