Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland
on: July 04, 2012, 05:52:55 PM
This is an improv from today, over a very old theme by Ambrosius, later used by Martin Luther, a very popular theme among composers, including Bach.
I think it somehow meets with m1469's Stephansdom experiences in Vienna
I think Quantum might know the tune as well
Somehow this theme was following me for many days now, and this improv came to me this evening, inmidst of packing and preparations and I just had to listen and play

Wolfi,
I felt a searching quality in the music. The harmonic language you use is very fluid as if though you were letting the theme take you on a journey.
Indeed the tune is familiar. I shall have to listen again, as there is much more to discover in this rich tapestry of colors you present. Thank you for sharing.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Hi Quantum, thank you for listening and for your comments. I'd actually love to hear an improvisation from you on the same theme
