I was looking for pianos digitais. I found a lot of… Had these options:
(obs: in brazil prices are high!!! where you pay 1000 $ (dollar) I'll pay 2500 R$ (reais) or more).

I like this: Casio Prívia PX-130; Yamaha CLP-(forgot the number); Yamaha YDP-135; (all are GHS)

I not really feels much differences in a GHS vs a GH.

But a lot of people say GH3 is better than GH, that is better than GHS.

ydp-135 vs ydp-161 (3.300 vs 4.600 R$), up more than 1.500 R$ of difference.

Is really more important had a GH3 or GH?
Or I can better mine piano technic with a GHS too?

help me plz, i want to buy this :D

and if you want say about other pianos digital, go ahead.

im not native on english.

That YDP135 is Yamaha's new, low-price console, and it has the GHS keyboard. I wouldn't want ANY piano with that keyboard.

The YDP161 has the GH keyboard. MUCH better.

The Clavinova CLP series pianos have the GH3 keyboard. The GH3 doesn't feel any different than the GH. It just has a third sensor, which allows faster repetition.

(You mentioned a CLP model with GHS keyboard. That's unlikely. The low-end CLP models now have GH3. The older ones have GH. If any of them ever had a GHS, it must have been many years ago.)

I think GH or equivalent will make you very happy from most digital piano manufacturers. I do not know much about the models you mentioned, so I will not comment about them in particular.

Personal opinion on my part !

How i can know if is same a GH or not? Casio not use this terms (looking for, I found a 'Prívia PX830kb' (something like this), a casio outline with a good price).

Shop Website says:
"Ivory touch," tri-sensor, 88-note, scaled hammer action keyboard"

Scaled Hammer Action is similar to Graded Hammer action in technology ( GH) from all that I can tell about it.. In use it will give a heavier feel than GHS and Yamaha GH might be a little smoother. Some people seem to feel that the feeling is similar to GH3.

I'm basing this from what I have read about this not from personal experience.

When you test more think about sound. When you play these pianos do you like the sound ? The keyboard action should be similar ( how the keys feel are similar), the sound of the Yamaha to me is more convincing. More real piano sound in the Yamaha.. The Yamaha costs more money ?

When I was a child my Polish Grand Mother lived with us and she did not speak english very well. I learned to absorb what I could of what she was saying to me.

The P95 and the YDP-161 are very different pianos than each other. You will see when you go to the city ! If I were going to try out pianos I would be very excited !

I'm thinking i had quoted difference things.

I can only go by the sound I hear. The Yamaha to me sounds much more like a grand piano. I've listened to several samples and that is my conclusion. But the proof is in the playing ! I have to admit I do not know enough about stereo sound to be of much help about the mechanical differences of the sound systems. Also we have no idea how the pianos we listen to online are set up.

Well, I test all the pianos today… I try looking for difference between keyboards and sounds. But here was hard found a Casio in all stores, because this i can only try px135… And because this I focus on ydp 135 x 16, trying feel the difference. Is possible percept which ydp161 is more weight than 135.

But it’s not too much for me. I like both, but the same question when I open topic I do now again, is really necessary a GH keyboard than a GHS?

Thinking on the reply, David, and other around internet, I’ll buy a ydp161, but seems have time to change mind (for tomorrow).

First let me say that you do not have to buy anything that people suggest to you in an internet forum ! You should buy what feels best for you to play, sounds best to you and what fits your needs ( do you need to hook to external speakers or a PA system for instance) and buy what is in your budget.

The YDP 135 has GHS action. That is not the end of the world. The YDP 161 has GH action, that brings real grand piano feel to the keys but it also brings the ability to do rapid repeated notes more accurately than GHS would. With anything digital there tends to be a processing delay, the GH and more so even, the GH3 action adds an extra sensor to quicken up the delay and so you can play rapid succession notes more accurately.. But GHS allows for various levels of tension or weight to the keys, it's just more simulated than mechanical. The differences may not be so obvious to your playing style. Keep in mind many many people play pianos with GHS action and are perfectly happy doing so. I personally would want at least GH, but that's me not you or them.

Other differences are more obvious. The 135 has six different sounds with a 60 sound polyphony. The 161 has 10 sounds with 128 sound polyphony. Not a huge difference, some keyboards have many more sounds than either of these and are in the same price range. If piano sound is your interest and not many other sounds it may not matter so much which of these two Yamaha's you buy, in that respect.

But you get to make this decision all on your own !! Not meaning to add confusion, the Yamahas are great pianos,  I would more likely go buy a Kawai for myself ( great grand piano sound and nice church organ sound and really nicely made action) . But that 161 sounds sounds nice too, to me.

I think in the long run you will like a digital piano with either GH or GH3. The key bed and action is a solid foundation towards your studies with those. Looking long term is tough with digital anything but this will still hold you for a long time. Of course there is always the argument that if you have no piano now any piano will be better than none !

One question, do you have no desire for an acoustic piano ? Just curious.
David

Today I live in an apartment and for next years I’ll continues living here, I was on middle of psychology graduation, and have desire to back my graduation in music too (I study hard all days and not work, family hate me, but it’s my life…). Because this I do not like much an acoustics, they are a problem with big sounds and the tunes. Too because the money I was casting in this Yamaha do not buy a good acoustics piano. ;)
I had an accoustic but its needed to sell because the space and big sounds perturb the peace (haha), familly want see tv, i want study... however I like more think about digital, maybe when I have an personal home.

I’m thinking it will help me a lot back to piano study and grown my technic and muscially, have no questions about this! :p

Now I need start think how back study! :D it’s much feelings!!!!

Digital pianos will do exactly what you describe. Be able to practice in silence from your family by using head phones. A good instrument for an apartment or where you live close to other people.. They do not require tuning. Portable ones will go on location and offer ability for you to perform out in the world. Many have jacks built in to tap into professional sound systems. Console ones like the 161 look nice in a living room with their cabinetry but are less portable.

What they ( digital) don't do is hold their value very well. Like all things digital, depreciation is rather fast. Harmonics are a little bit different sounding, digital being more of a pure sound and acoustic having stray string sounds, vibration fall off and or wavering, that getting a good implementation of that with digital has been an ongoing goal with digital manufacturers. Also getting a good recording of an acoustics sound takes very good recording equipment.

Companies like Yamaha and Kawai are using multi samples of their 9 ft. acoustic grand pianos to try and emulate grand piano sound in their digital pianos. Very high recording technology goes into these pianos. Roland I'm sure is doing the same thing.

I wouldn't anticipate any problems from a piano in the class you are looking at. I personally would not need the cabinetry. I would rather own a piano that goes on a stand ( portable stage piano) that has more features to make music with and more options for playing out of the house. But that's me and I already have a grand piano in my living room anyway, I don't need more furniture.

I keep adding to this response !

Finally, if you have "much feelings" as you say, then piano will have to be sought out ! It doesn't make a huge difference which one as long as it's decent and you like playing it. I know, I was away from piano study for too long. My piano teacher 30 years ago or more now who I studied with for a decade  said I will always return to my music, she was correct. Music gets into your marrow, it's in my head almost constantly, passages of music I study are in my head, concerts I hear are in my head if it's music I love enough. I play that music in my head every day, it's better to get it out through the keys of the piano than to go crazy !

About three year without the piano. I feel like have a miracle or something that! I do not know what do now I have one, want to do 100000 things a same time. Well, tomorrow I will start testing all functions that Yamaha have. Is much beautiful this piano (ydp161).

Playing a lot of small things that I remember I percept my posture are all wrong, how we comment in my first post. I’ll start now a lot of practice to do the correct movements and maintenance of posture.

Maybe I make a review to put on youtube. I’m thinking…

I’ll read some topics, open others and read something. I need practice my posture, but need to know what is correct posture...

Posture is important but I think how high you sit is even more important, that and distance from the keys.
I'm glad you are loving your piano, what to do with it will come to you.

Feeling has a more than one meaning, it depends on the context it's used in. You can feel with your hands for instance, so you can feel pain from a hammer blow to your finger or feel the lovely texture of a fine lady's skin ! Or you can feel an emotion from within, as you feel in love with that lady or feel as though you now hate hammers after that blow to your finger.. So there is a physical or an emotional meaning depending on how the word is used.

Enjoy your new piano !
