Favorite composers of the 21st Century
on: July 21, 2012, 02:34:25 AM
Who would you say are your favorite composers that are still around and composing today?

I'm not too familiar with many so I'm interested in listening to some more.

I have a friend who's a composition major. Um... he composed this cool piece for four hands, two pianos that I played with him. It was fun  :P

Besides that um...  That Carl Vine person rach_forever mentioned is pretty cool, and... ???

I like Esa Pekka Salonen a lot. He did this really cool series for piano called Dichotomie. I haven't played it, but it's awesome. Unfortunately, there's no Youtube of it. I picked it up on Amazon performed by Gloria Cheng.

Do you like classical music? Do you like comics? If your answer to this questions is yes, then you will like Michael Daugherty.
