Impossible to answer. I am very naive, and simply allow my brain to respond to musical sound. The facile answer is that my favourite is the music I create myself, but this is tautological. If my own music were not my favourite it would be plain silly. Having said that, certain idioms, certain styles I always return to with great affection. Classical ragtime holds a deeply archaic, almost sensual fascination, which has lasted since my childhood. Certain modes of expression, practically impossible to define in words, of the romantic era, continue to move me and probably always will.

Overall though, I love to be surprised, to be moved on the instant by musical sound, whatever its genre. I relish having my comfortable modes of expression, my carefully worked out points of view, my products of the complacent intellect, smashed at one blow by a sound which goes right to the core of my being, charming me into submission. It's what music is about, it's magic, real magic.

I think, I'm like Romantic better than classical, with my top fav composer is Rachmaninoff
