Sundays

Excluding vacation/time off.

Can you truly enjoy a Sunday when knowing that tomorrow you'll have to go back to school/work? I hate being conscious of that fact.

If you're a Calvin and Hobbes fan maybe you'll remember that one comic strip where they brought this issue up.

I am retired now, but over several decades of working, yes, I soon sorted that one out. Brooding about that particular thing, minor in itself, can soon burgeon into a treacherous mental habit wherein negative future possibilities dominate the mind. The ability to fully enjoy the present is a very important trick to acquire. Work used to go right out of my brain until I actually walked in the office door.

I enjoy my job enough that Mondays don't really bother me. I guess I'm one lucky bastard. :-)

I start thinking about Monday on Friday evenings, so Sunday is no worse for me.
