I'm in the USA, and I think the team is second. China is first, which is no surprise.

The first post in any thread that comes across like either of us is usually j_menz. The post immediately following will be me - because I own troll spray.

^real reason - I kind of use j_menz as my personal forum filter, since if he felt it was worth replying to it usually is. And it usually means I get to tell someone to learn more bach.

Incidently, my looks appear to have been inconsequential to my success on any level throughout life so far. Pianists win. Unfortunately I can't necessarily top j_menz in that regard either..

Also, I saw my sun burnt country come 4th in syncronised diving a couple of nights ago...china won - they deserved to, those girls were like backflipping identical twins whose mass immediately evaporated upon impact with water.

People used to read in the bath, I'm guessing if you are gonna browse internet forums there instead, troll spray on tap would be handy.  Perhaps a nozzle with a USB plug? :-\

EDIT: Ah, finally sorted the Vampire reference. Don't confuse me with popular culture, you know I know none!

I didn't mean it quite like that.

I just don't see the resemblance, though I'd have thought the name showing up on the left bit should have been clue enough anyway.

I don't usually care about the Olympics but the controversies somehow kept me in the loop. Can't avoid reading the news, India's gatecrasher, timer malfunction in fencing, the U.S. dream team controversy (1992 vs 2012) etc.

Reading the issue about the dream team had its benefits though, I just got to know how much the game changed (hand checking etc.).

You know the 1992 dream team was never down by any points at any given time in the whole Olympic series?

They completely slaughtered everyone!  They won by an average of 43.8 points, and the closest team to beat them was Croatia, which lost by 32 what the heck?!

1992 team vs 2012 team would be like the European colonization of America; it would be so ugly.   The only people who would actually make the 1992 team would be LeBron, Kevin Durant, and Kobe.

Not just that, imagine the match under the old rules where hand checking is allowed and no defensive three second violation. Many NBA players and coaches IIRC estimated that Michael Jordan would have averaged 45-50 points under the new rules.

Basketball is a horrible sport -they should have different height catergories -now players just jump up and put the ball in the basket -how boring and unchallenging is that?  Be gald when the Olympics are over anyhow -so tedious.
When a search is in progress, something will be found.

You have no idea how difficult it is to dunk in a game.  Being tall doesn't determine how good of a basketball player you are.  If you're like 7'2, sure it may be easy for you to dunk, get rebounds, and blocks, but you probably really slow, have a horrible jumper, and can't dribble.  Conversely, if you're like 5'9, sure you can dunk with some effort, but you have 7'2 down in the paint ready to destroy you if you drive.  So to compensate for your short height, you're probably going to be quick, an excellent ball handler, and a good shooter.

It all balances out dude.

Chris Paul is 6'0 , Russel Westbrook and Deron Williams are both 6'3

The only center we have is 7'1 Tyson Chandler and the other teams has been using that to their advantage.  I personally think we have too many guards, but whatever.
