just a little improve i recorded
on: August 04, 2012, 11:10:48 PM
my skills of iMovie and garage band are not that good at all, but i set a drum track and started improvising let me know what you think, and what I should do differently.
Its just the same chords over and over so i know it gets old quickly.

Hi kclee,

If you look near the top of this page where the page selector is, just above that you'll see Improvisations.  That's the board dedicated to that art.  If you post your improv there, I think you'll get a larger response.  The Audition Room is more focused on piano compositions of the well known composers as well as the more obscure or forgotten composers.  I hope this is helpful.

Hello kclee. I enjoyed listening to your improv. The use of a very limited number of chords combined with that back beat gave it quite a relentless feel. Even though it got fairly ornamental later on it still had a sense of being "no-nonsense", of being direct.

I did also like how the left hand sometimes left it's accompanying function and provided counter melodies to the right hand (e.g. around the 2 minute mark).

I look forward to listening to your future improvs. :)

thank you! most of the things I've done in the past haven't really had a direction to them. its just been a simple chord progression with bits of flare added to it.

I have been trying to get to where there is a form to the music and has a purpose and direction, I'm just struggling with getting a hook at the beginning of a song. over the past couple weeks what I've produced has seems rather pointless until the last minute or so and then it will pick up, i'll be posting more soon.

I think it's pretty good, and it's not long enough for the 'backdrop' chords to get too repetitive and boring.
All truths, not merely ideas, but truthful faces, truthful pictures or songs, are highly beautiful.
