Is Kraus U-127 a good piano for new learners?
on: August 05, 2012, 07:05:09 AM
A piano dealer wants to sell us a Kraus U-127 for 2100 US dollars.  He told us the piano was made in Japan.  The piano is 8 years, in good condition. However, we have never heard about this brand. Does anyone know this piano?  Thank you so much!

The best I can come up with is Krause ( German made piano of good quality) sold out in 1958. There is a Klaus U127, no vintage but at a Japanese site. Either way it seems to be an obscure find. I'd be concerned with maintenance even if it's in great shape right now.

You can buy good used main stream branded uprights for $2000-$2400 all day long. If you are in the US have a look at Rick Jones piano site. They rebuild many of their pianos and warranty all their pianos and ship all over the US. They have a unique trade in policy as well when you decide to upgrade.

Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.
