Bunch of tremolos
on: August 07, 2012, 09:28:18 PM
Pieces similar to Liszt Transcendental Etude No. 12 (Chasse Neige)

I know of these:

- Grandes Etudes de Paganini No. 1 (Preludio)
- Alkan Etude Op. 35, No. 3

Yep, that's pretty much it. Help please.

Liszt features the tremolo in a lot of his piano music - but the only piece I can think of that comes remotely close to matching the percentage of tremolo compared to total notes throughout the entire piece to the same degree as the ones you listed is this early one.

The question could be "how to practice tremolos in general" since Liszt TE12 and Paganini Etude no1 are tremolo based pieces.

How to practice tremolos in groups of 4,5,6,8 without losing the melody?

Perfection itself is imperfection.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
