I have a Steinway model M. It was great at first, but my dream is a fazioli M.liminal black grand. What's yours and why?

A perfectly restored Broadwood or Pleyel from the 1900th century.

OMG good taste on the Pleyel. Those things are dreamy....

me, shigeru kawai sk-7 probably (i would need mor time with the flagship concert grand and i think i would only really prefer it in a very very large venue, so more most other the 7 has plenty of power)
though not as 'sexy' as some of the euro boutique makers, these things are freakin incredible! you get a single master artisan technician (the best of the best at kawai) your instrument is basically his baby, a labor of love, you get  a card signed with his name and picture. in US markets, kawai will fly him out to your home within a year of purchase so he can do the final personal touches to your liking. i have played a number of these in different sizes, and they are all divine

Visually, kawai"s are astonishing. However, the tone isn't rich enough. It has a certain cheap texture when playing. But to give credit , for what it is ( being a show piano) it is like I say astonishing:)

and let's not confuse a shigeru with a standard kawaii. they are worlds aprt in tone and feel.  that said i think even a very well prepped kawai rx-7 , though not a shigeru sk-7 by even a long shot, is a damn fine piano too. i prefer it over many other 'prestige brands' but man shigerus are out of this world.

For some reason these huge black shiny things don't appeal to me so much... It's a bit hard to explain but I dream of a piano that can sing softly yet with clarity instead of one that has a very full tone, roars and fills the space. Not that the top pianos of today couldn't sing, but the tone is just so sweet on these old things.
I guess I'm just a bit weird...

A piano I could actually play in my own home without the fascist UK governement and anal neighbours telling me I can't -
When a search is in progress, something will be found.

Anything that costs more than a hundred grand. Preferably a Steinway.

To be honest, I'd be happy with any piano that's better than my current one.
