Interview with Mayla: Playing With Passion!
on: August 28, 2012, 04:42:03 PM
We continue now with PianoStreet's own incredibly prollific m1469, author of nearly 10,000 mini-essays expounding on her favorite subject -- herself.

This week we focus on m1469's  thoughts on "Playing With Passion!"

Its good to have you with us again, m1469. I'm certain your many fans will be eager to read what you have to say.

Oh, thank you. I've been working especially hard this week to reaffirm my feely cyber extensionism and Fall season color choices, making absolutely sure that I am feeling my fans' feelings, not merely my own through the "ad libitum sostenuto of the basso continuo of mein empfindung".

Hmmmm.... that would be a sort of Latin and  --

Austrian -- Beethoven's spoken language

You seem to spontaneously say things in ... Austrian,  your eyes rolling upward, eyelids fluttering ecstatically.

Yes, ever since Beethoven's Geist spoke to me -- he channels me, you know.

You mean when you were in his Vienna studio playing his Moonlight Sonata?

"Mondschien",  Ludwig said to me, "aber warum so happy?"

Has Beethoven always been your favorite composer?

Oh no! That would be Kappelmeister Anon.

Anon? As in --

He composed all those hymns in church, you know. VERY feely, feely, sprititual -- and speaking of anonymous... that person who hacked into our thread after our last interview claiming SHE is the REAL m1469 is a doppelganger, I think... poor thing. She simply has a slippery opinion about everything, making things up as she goes with half baked logic. I am the professional here, and devote every waking hour, and sometimes sleeping, to improving my gifts and contributing to my wonderful PianoStreet. You may have noticed, its kind of "rural" at times, as streets go -- a bit pocked, rutted and un-cobbled as it were, and I keep it repaired, giddy  and intelligent. And did I mention happy and ever so smart? Let me put it this way, I've been voted THE most important poster on PianoStreet a number of times -- of course, I always bubble humbly, tee hee -- but I think this shows the hearts and minds of our little community and as such I am not only the "street cleaner" of PianoStreet sweeping out trashy thought-behavior but the Meter Maid when necessary, punishing and insisting people pay their moral due! By example, of course!

Thank you, m1469,  for clearing that up. Now... about your childhood influences--

The thoughts of the universe.

Really... the universe thinks?

Without question. You see, when correct thought is sent out,  like a hymn-prayer, we see it return in its mature form having healed the collective -- more souls than you can possibly imagine,  and since our bodies are but an illusion --

An illusion?

Absolutely!  When proper thought goes outward, expanding our spirituality beyond the speed of light and healing others beyond the timey timelessness of time, it returns to us enhancing our lives with "Gemutlichkeit" from the universe. So we can understand easily that Beethoven, is an energy force neither created nor destroyed and somewhere beyond the Milky Way that sweet child Beethoven, our nascent and wondrous spiritual genius, is just now taking his first compositional steps. So Baby Bee needs guidance, and a bit of Street sweep and sometimes even a diaper change! Tee-hee

Why that's fantastic! Are you actually saying Beethoven was always in infancy AND maturity simultaneously, here, there and everywhere, the product of a superior being who created him in a kind of timeless space curved compositional continuum?

Oh Heavens no... God did not create Beethoven, at least not in His image, nor did God create any of us. Beethoven IS God and  WE are all God all at once and forever and therefore it is our THOUGHTS that heal with a kind of  "Kinderszenen Interventionalism"  and make us whole and when we think bad things it is Darkness ... black hole, light sucking, pregnant dog doppelgangers metaphysically speaking -- attempting to influence our every --

So to put this into more accesbile language --

May I add something -- I'm always accessible and here is the answer to the most pressing questions from my fans wanting to know what I'm really like in person, so here goes.  This season's color for me will be... ta daaaa... "PASSION PINK!" Now, I'd considered  dark blue, but then there's the stigma of the blue dress! Some of you may be too young to remember poor sad sack Monica Lewinsky with her "presidential knee pads", mussed hair, lipstick smeared all over her mouth. But that's what the "blue dress thingy" brings to mind, though my dear hubby Walter yearns for a play date under our desk with some --

But m1469...  just to clairfy your "Kinderszenen Intervetionalism" in everyday language...  are you saying that what most of us think of as Good and Evil... God, Satan... are incorrect... religious processing errors since Beethoven "told you" that the Moonlight --

Mondschein

-- told you that the "Mondschein" Sonata's 1st Movement is to be played in a Major key  and THIS reveals the riddle of the Universe's "Ewige Gemutlichkeit"?

YES! YOU'VE GOT IT!!! Eternal homey hearth happiness! Infinite Smiley Face!   And here's the really, really amazing part of spiritual growth -- upon reflection, after his post-mortal molecular dissemination, Beethoven realized that all during his corporeal life, he'd courted bad mojo by putting darkness on paper... the stepchild symbol bastards in the eternal Circle of Fifths -- the unholy minor keys, the zombie slaves of  rune-like bad-monkey thought Hell!

Hold on -- you're not proposing that  music is  some kind of  "divine invention extensionism" propagated by --

Bach was divine, don't you think, church rat that he was. He wrote Inventions -- tee hee, I'm ever so clever!

m1469, with all due respect, this would make the "known musical universe" little more than a play thing of.. of postmodern religious zealots!

Zeal is important, is it not? How can one expand one's consciousness correctly without zealousness. And I like to tell myself that zealousness is the opposite of jealousness! You hear that "du doppelganger gestupides grosse pregnant dog!

Well then, getting back to piano, this might explain....and let me get this bit of the PianoStreet's critical review correct regarding your recent PianoStreet recording... this may explain why the Street wrote:  "... lacking depth and breadth, her interpretation of the Appasionata Sonata was so  "Humpty Dumpty" that it fell off the wall and even Beethoven could not have put it back together again!"

Well --  THAT recording is the doppelganger's performance, not mine!

Oh?

Well of course! I'm completely capable of... depth and breadth, did you say?

Yes, depth and breadth,  not to mention --

MY performance is for  those capable of experiencing the "Sturm und Drang auf dem" --

Well then, I'm sure we'd all love to hear it!

Funny you should mention "putting it back together again." The recording is actually on loan, you know.  Baby Bee has it, and is spiritually nursing my recording as we speak in his final  quarter turn coda of the Milky Way to assimilate everything he needs to know before restructuring the Appasionata for broader "Entertainment Tonight" like palatability. Speaking of palatable, I just love Milky Ways and Mars Bars, and some of my fans are anxious to know if I like licking frosting from Oreos, dipping them in milk, or --

Yes... well whether it is "your" performance here on PianoStreet or your "doppel's", the opening few measures should be full of mystery and foreboding, setting the mood for the entire sonata. But you play them like you're trying to conjure up Teletubbies.

Teletubbies? Do you realize Beethoven's spirit wept when I performed these opening measures for him in Vienna! He actually wept -- in a sort of "Spiritum Distractum Miserere". If you ask me, Beethoven regretted very much the corporeal challenges he faced. How can you expect him to compose when he had no microwave, dishwasher, hemorrhoid cream... imagine...no refrigerator or cold cuts!?  Which reminds me -- a  warm mouth watering munch of fresh Viennese cheesy poofed muffins is simply --

Are you actually implying that Mondschein in C  was no fluke, that Beethoven's spirit --

Precisely! Beethoven's spirit -- Geistthoven -- told me the Appasionata was ALSO supposed to be in a major key, and the Minor key version was a mistake because he was in a very bad mood. Had he had a nice microwaved Sacher Torte und Kaffee, had his Schilling stealing schweinkanoodle nephew not tormented him, the Sonata would've been completely different and much easier to play and sing along to. I mean old Beethoven even spelled it wrong -- it should have been "A Passion Sonata" not "Appasionata"...sheesh! Shall I sing it for you, hold in the arms of my voice the squeezy Loving Lullaby of Baby Bee's and My version?

"SO...ME...DO.....ME..SO..DO... ME.. SO.... Yippee Ki  Yay.. Yippee Ki  Yo!" --

I see our times about up, m1469

Whoopsie.... well might I say just one thing more?

If you must.

If there were one thing I'd tell my fans of secondary importance to insisting on my fashion choices, it is that if ever there was a time more important than now... and I mean right now, this very instant, not tomorrow, not five minutes ago.. then I haven't heard it ding, haven't heard it sing... or keen or ting or ping or ring (and wouldn't answer it anyway especially if I were in the "pee pee") . Nor would I feel its resonance beating and clawing at my bathroom door -- Nevermore! -- nor would I take its pulse to feel the beating of its still dead  heart, BECAUSE NOW IS OUR ONLY MOMENT.... whoopsie, it slipped away darn it... NO... THIS...(hold still!)... IS OUR ONLY MOMENT...(oops, lost it again slippery little...gotcha!) THIS -- YES THIS IS OUR ONLY PRESENT MOMENT ON EARTH, THE GEBURTSTAG OF THE ERSTES TAG OF THE RESTES OF YOUR LIFE, MEINE GIFT TO YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHING DAY MY ADORING PASSION PINK FANS!!!

Well, that's an amazingly sanctimonious and pandering bit of  --

Oh, oh, and just one more little tiny thing --  I can't resist (waving hand in air frantically)... please, please, puhleeze!

Ok, m1469, but we're really out of time --

I just want to say that I really, REALLY love the Teletubbies, and Its simply wretched that haters say Tinky Winky is a nasty, little homo!

Thank you, m1469.

Aufwiedersehen... tee hee.

Pink is actually a color I've been thinking about, too.  But, more like a pale pink, or a rose color.  I can see it perfectly in my mind.  Not giving up on the dark blue, either.  Of course green is in there, as well, and probably a few shades.  Also coral.  I'd have to see what else seems good.  Always with shoes to match, too.  And, I need to get somebody who really knows how to do makeup ... I once got my makeup done for fun at a clinique counter and it was really cool, I couldn't quite replicate it though.  I'll have to learn.  I also have to figure out how to really get my hair to be doing what I want.  I like the idea of long, but I really enjoyed short hair, too, and feel it reflects my inner sass.  So, I'll straighten my hair sometimes, and sometimes curl it ... but I can't just wear it down because it really goes nuts with the face and and the eyes and bowing and all.  I'll figure it out though.

I really tried to find a pink dress photo, but those images are just *not* what I have in mind.  Most of them are too poofy or frilly or trying SO hard to look like a princess or sex kitten or whatever dress.  I have this dress in my mind and I just don't see it, so I'll have to work on that.  Of course, I some day will just find awesome dresses that I didn't imagine, too.  Some day :).

Here's a pretty cool dark blue dress, but it's really not the one I'm thinking about - it's got some of the characteristics though.

Well, time for sleepybye in my world, I think.  I've got another full day of bein' me tomorrow  ;D :-*.

I guess you're running low on material, both in concept and literally?  Or perhaps you are just finding that you could be using your time in better ways?  :)

I don't apologize for being imperfect and having room to improve, however far that may be.  I value the progress that I have made as a musician and as a person.  This doesn't mean I'm poised to stand still.

I'm gratified to report that m1469 will be giving yet another interview I hope to have posted by the end of the month.

She is extremely eager to continue our conversations -- she wants them renamed "The m1469 Chronicles", which I am resisting.

I will make every effort to rein in the length of our next interview -- she is as wordy and convoluted as a politician, I'm sure you realize, which is likely something at which she could really excel.

Since part of her "charm" is her verbosity, it is no simple task to boil this down to a more concise format without sacrificing "her essence" , but I promise to make every effort for the sake of her fans.  ;D

Dear Lampoony,

I've been thinking and there are a few things you should know about me.  I used to play with playdough, and I also used to have little clays and I loved to play with those.  Here also is a photo of a bear I formed at school while I was in Kindergarten (and I actually remember forming him):

And here is his bear bottom if you would like proof:

Lampooner, don't you agree his bottom looks as if a heart?  :)

OK, let's see.  One time when I was little, my brother and I threw hoards of dirt clods over the fence from our backyard, just because it was fun.  We didn't think about the fact that we actually had neighbors back there and that they were lower than us and it went completely ALL OVER their patio.  We got pretty busted and had to go over there and clean it up.

Also, when I was about 11, I was sitting in a 24-acre plot of land, all by myself way in the depths of it, deeply, deeply thinking by the river.  Suddenly 6-7 dogs came up to me and they were really mad and wild-seeming :'( ... and I was really very afraid  :'( ... and they were barking *so* much and they were standing where I needed to exit and it seemed I could only just go across the river or get attacked ... and a couple of them kept coming right to me and acting like they were going to bite me and do you know what happened?  I quieted all my fear, I got so calm and I listened, OK?  Deeply listened.  And I got so very calm and the thought came to be so calm and to walk right through them, and do you know what?  That's what I did, and they didn't hurt me!  I walked right through them and they were barking but I calmly, so very calmly, went through them and had to still walk back to my house with them all around me and as I walked, I just knew that I had power and could be so calm and eventually, they became even my friends!

That's enough for now, Lampooner.  Except, one last thing.  The mailman used to give us rubberbands or tangerines when he stopped by.  His name was Felix (but his name was not Felix Mendelssohn, OK?).

Dear Lampoony,

It occurred to me that there may be interest in this Collectible Children's Book, "Rock Finds a Friend," where I am featured as a character in the story.  That's me on the cover there:

It can be found on Amazon and other sites.

Cheers!  :D

BECAUSE NOW IS OUR ONLY MOMENT.... whoopsie, it slipped away darn it... NO... THIS...(hold still!)... IS OUR ONLY MOMENT...(oops, lost it again slippery little...gotcha!)

I don't experience "the present," and I didn't mean it, as a fraction or slice along a line of time, as though you can put a pin on it and select it that way, or as though it's something which can slip away.  It is more like an All-inclusive reality of only one thing occurring; a single, ever-expanding possibility and of all existence at once, always and at all possible times.
