i want to share with you this. i really appreciate stokowsky's job, but this is not one if his best shots though...

liszt hungarian rhapsodies got the orchestra treatment.

newer, this is the whole concert but many of the themes and pieces in the suites and medleys are re-orchestrations of piano solos (but many of the piano solos were originally orchestrated or were actually 8 bit midi's for the really old ones so it's hard to say but it is splendid listening).

Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.  Most famously by Ravel, but there are a number of others, including one by Stokowski and one by Ashkenazy.  There's even a rock version by Emerson Lake and Palmer.

Wow really?? Is it possible to watch this online?

I also know the Alkan Concerto was orchestrated although that might seem a bit overly obvious.

after listening many transcriptions (thanks you all) i just like debussy's works, rach's also... chopin is piano... and liszt's are some good too =)
