Listening to a clip from the ABRSM website, the opening four measures of this Mazurka are played in duple time even though the time signature is 3/4.  This is the only on-line recording I can find so have nothing to compare it with.  I'm teaching myself this piece and would have played it in triple time had I not heard it.

I would be really grateful if anybody could explain to me why this is played in triple time?

Thanks
