Uematsu. Arrangement by Nakayam. Theme of Love from Piano Opera FF IV/V/VI, I've been reading through this lately, and there are some really nice creative things happening between the hands in the middle section.

Women are generally dumb, so the theme from Eastenders or something the silly cows have heard in a film is likely to get better results than anything from the classical world.

Don't listen to these jerks, I am a woman and you should take my advice and learn a Fantasy or Fantasie. If you can play extremely fast in a part or two you will have better luck, because seeing a man or a woman play fast is very exciting. You can guess why?

Really enjoying learning Chopin's Fantasie Impomptu at the moment, and it's rather a famous piece too. Wow everyone seems so particularly subtle in their sexual humour! Or maybe I need to get my head out of the gutter?

There are minors on this forum you know... ;)

But the fact is that if I happened to run into a (pleasant looking) guy who would play certain kind of music on the piano, that might have an effect... whether he plays fast or not  ;D

MIght I suggest playing some music that is not of the "long haired" variety.. you'd probaby have a better chance of scoring with the ladies if you play some contemporary music.  Unless you find one who's really high class and likes to listen to classical piano music.

My soon to be 17 yo Grand Daughter said when I played Paul Simon's, Sound Of Silence for her and her sister, "Ooh I like that ". My wife loves and I mean absolutely loves David Nevue's, Winter Walk when I play it. My oldest daughter ( the 17 year old's mom) has always loved Fur Elise. My 36 YO daughter loves my arrangement of the theme song Ice Castles. And my X-wife loved my version of Chariots of Fire though I have not played that in 30 years now but when I did she loved it.

So all females liking relatively uncomplicated music.  Don't get me wrong, they like other music as well, just saying ! They like it moody, played well and smooth presentation. Bring out what counts in the piece, you don't have to get extravagant with composes etc, IMO.

I have so many females in my life I wouldn't dare even consider calling women cows, or dumb, by the way ! For one thing they aren't either one and I enjoy their company immensely but my Grand Daughters in particular are highly cherished individuals by just about everyone they meet, and all honors students with advanced academic classes. Far from dumb and total knock outs. They will be going on in school on scholarships, the whole family couldn't be more proud of them, myself included !

I know this is different than romantic stuff but then again maybe not so different in what they like for music coming out of the piano..
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

I am 19, and I can recall countless experiences where I've been at a party, there's a piano in the corner and I'm forced to play something for some girl.

Tried doing that last weekend to my mom's friend's son. I played a mediocre Chopin Ocean Etude, he said it was just noise. Probably wasn't him though, considering how I played it.

LOL

But I wonder how he would react to Ravel's Scarbo..

I've played little excerpts of Scarbo for some people and they all said it sounded like disgusting music.  They weren't even excerpts, the were like little blips.

No but yeah, creepy piece.

Sometimes you don't really have to play anything.  One day I was warmng up and the janitor was baffled by this f minor scale.  He thought it was a piece by Beethoven lol.   ::)

Ok so I'm looking for some new pieces to add to my repertoire, and as you can probably tell by the title I'm looking for something to win over the ladies ^_^ and of course for my own sense of achievement/enjoyment.

I have only just picked up piano again recently after a year break (piano exams caused me a lot of stress and laziness, forceful motivation led me to want to give up, nevertheless I now realise how stupid it is to put something I'm good at/enjoy so much to waste). I have been playing for almost 14 years now and over the last few days have picked up Clair de Lune again.

Any suggestions?
Cheers  :)

Something short, sweet, and written by a lady. You might have to venture out of classical though.

Are you sure about that? Some people might well offer all manner of incentives to someone else to stop playing if the playing, regardless of the repertoire, is bad enough!

Believe it or not, they actually track that. Currently, there are 2.2 guys for every girl, which makes it 69% male.
