Ha...ha...ha...what a knee slapper.
Ok. I need to step back and clarify this one I guess..
I'm editing and will attempt to make piece with Scherzo here..
First off, no offence intended my friend. When I said I was joking I mean it in the sense that I am not posting seriously. Not with intention to be hysterically funny and certainly not to tick people off. You are missing the underlying meaning to this post.
Clearly, I do not believe the things I originally posted. These are vented frustrations. I am sarcastically posting "Things I've learned..." in a cynical way. I am trying to point out that no matter what approach you take to learning piano, you can't win, because it seems that many people have their own opinions on what is "good taste" or who is important to study or what pianists consider bad practices. Believe it or not, but these views are held by many teachers and pianists. But they are not my views.
I was trying to do it in a funny way, but apparently I have failed.
So, I hope this clarifies where I am coming from. And I agree with you, they are foolish things to say. And many people, pros even, say things like this. But, if you think they are my views, then you have missed my point entirely. I don't want to argue about this anymore though. So, let's move on shall we?
