Peter Heidrich's 'Happy birthday' variations question...
on: September 08, 2012, 09:41:58 PM
Hey there ;)

I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how many variations are there in this set by Heidrich? I was under the impression that they're supposed to be 14, but all the vids I've come across on You Tube so far are, if they are indeed 14, incomplete, one way or another. It's not too bad, I guess, since it's 'only' 3 that are missing (the ones in the style of Bach, Wagner and Reger) but it's very frustrating that out of all the vids on You Tube not a single one includes those three! >:(  :(  So...yeah  ;) any help with that would be much appreciated  :)

Cheers,
And a big hug to everyone (don't worry, you don't have to accept that hug if you don't want to  ;D ...as if you didn't know already, eh?  ::) ^^

Hi there! After some research I found out that there are exactly 14 variations, you can check it here: https://www.allmusic.com/composition/happy-birthday-variations-for-string-quartet-mc0002407950
Also, if you want to buy a cd with all the variations, here you are: https://www.allmusic.com/album/fun-time-with-string-quartet-mw0000714321
Last, I found that there does exist a full version of it on youtube, it is in 4 parts:

I hope I have proven useful! Enjoy!

Hey, mate  ;) Cheers for everything :) I must say I had already found the CD  ;D but I hadn't been able to find those vids! I'll definitely try to get my hands on the CD but at least now I can finally enjoy the full variation set as it's meant to be enjoyed 8)

You've definitely proven more than useful, mate ;)

Cheers again!
And best regards,
