Metronomes:which is the best to buy?
on: September 16, 2012, 12:25:48 PM
Good afternoon everyone,

I am a piano teacher and finding that a lot of my students now really need to buy a metronome.  I wondered if any teacher has any suggestions on the best one (a cheap one that works well.  I know that is easy to say but hard to find) that I should suggest my students buy.

Many thanks in advance!

Claire

I use Matrix MR500. I personally don't recommend buying a pendulum since they don't keep a steady beat.
Perfection itself is imperfection.

I don't know if it is the best one but I use a Korg electronic metronome. It's light, accurate, it has a nice screen and it's ridiculously cheap. I prefer it to my Wittner mechanical device. :)

Ditto to electronic metronomes.  Cheap, highly accurate, portable, blinking lights instead of annoying ticks.
