I like this better than the original.

I've heard of that song but never have actually heard it.  This is the only version I've heard.  I doubt I'm missing much, except understanding all the spoofs...

well the song refuses "to go away"! at least this makes it less annoying (still annoying though lol).

I was sadly exposed to this version..

for all those not in australia.. this is apparently the best our country has to offer.

If you made it the whole way through I'm genuinely impressed.

Sometimes I'm put in a position where I have to watch some of that stuff.. and I try.. until I just can't do it anymore - the entire show (and all its other relatives) gives me the heebie jeebies .

"The Voice" was the worst, it came off so scripted and poorly acted that I was left feeling physically ill watching it.

What is this?

Janis Medins' (Latvian) Piano Concerto,a jaw dropping beautiful work

(like many the solo piano pieces I have for example his/Medins' 24 Dainas (folksongs)-think "Preludes" like Rachmaninoff Preludes- for piano . as i have heard these described and would agree, as wonderful pieces  far from being simple "folksongs". They are virtuostic, late-romantic jewels in the style of Rachmaninov with a distinct Nordic touch. Medins  is able to pack lots of action, drama, and lyicism in these 2-4 minute pieces they are "must listens" for lovers of late romantic piano music!).  i think a new CD release of these recently released, i need to double check the label and find a link for it later on.

I had heard 'old recordings' of thhe concerto but never newer ones, then last year this thing popped up. According to the uploader this was the first performance in soem 40 years or so after a rediscovery of the score (apparently it was  thought 'lost' so that makes sense that we didn't hear it for some time, no one had the music!)

this is thing is 'hot'.

the other two movements
ii

iii.

edit-found it, i forget that if you search without those language specific characters, you'll never hit it, i don't know how to generate them on my end so i had to "link hop" my way there

i simply must buy this sometime!if your volume is up you should hear a sample playing on the CD page
