Recently I have come to appreciate opera more and more -Having a digital piano enables me to sing along -with the added benefit of recording without anyone having to put up with the torture of listening to me sing!
I have always been aware that Mozarts' keyboard style was very influenced by opera -not so much with Beethoven -Schubert is inspired by leider more perhaps -as is Chopin and Schumann -
Are there any other composers who wrote for piano who composed with a kind of operatic style -?? I can't really think of any surprisingly-possibly in the baroque era Handel had a lot of aria type structures in his music -
In the 21st Century I also think Philip Glass is very influenced by opera -
