I don't know if it is a problem on my end, but I am getting no sound for the first 45 seconds or so. A shame because what is there is very well done.

Hi Furtwaengler,
The silence at the beginning is intentional as the first set of frames are meant to be read. Glad you enjoyed the piece. I have a special affection for the 'Woodland Sketches."

Hi Hal,

This is a delightful piece!  Not only did MacDowell set the atmosphere, but even seemed to produce some impressionistic effects well before Debussy had brought that style to the public in France.  There's more to MacDowell than many musicians believe to be the case.  Marvelous playing.

Hi David,
Yes, MacDowell definitely points the way to impressionism. I try to bring that out in the music. His genius is very underrated. In my opinion, this music requires the utmost technical ability and musical sophistication for it to work. Like Schumann, absolutely none of this music "plays by itself."  It's not at all obvious at first! Glad you enjoyed it!
