Canon in D (Pachelbel - arr. Lee Galloway) [Video]
on: October 03, 2012, 12:39:58 AM
OK, not perfect. But I'm satisfied I could play it in front of the camera, because it seemed impossible getting it decently near the end. I turned dynamics off because it was late and I couldn't turn the volume up so the dynamics could sound better, next time I'll do with them on. I added a little of reverb filter. I'm still improving although I have no idea on how to not stumble like that at least twice :T. Never played a 3 minute piano piece like that, my longest one was barely 2 minutes, depending of the speed.

This is a pretty piece -it is tricky though -all in all your playing was ok -but you need to voice the RH parts better -and make the phrasing more elegant and lilting -

I don't understand why there is hiss in the recording -it might be better to make an MP3 and sync it to the video -to get perfect sound.
When a search is in progress, something will be found.

Thanks for the feedback! Really, it is? Well, I do agree its the hardest piece I've learned so far.

I will work on the RH parts the way you suggested.

The hiss is because the video capturing device is a.. Nintendo 3DS hahah, and the volume was low so the hardware and software adjusted to get the sound loud enough, giving the recording some hiss. Turning up the volume should minimize this. I still have no idea on how to directly record any of my performances, directly from the keyboard, I'm working on getting the right equipment and learning, though.
