Somewhat boring notes in bass clef.
on: October 08, 2012, 02:46:03 AM
So I have this piece which has some pretty boring sequences in the bass clef, I can't stand these single same notes, although they seem simple I have trouble getting them right, but they don't sound nice anyways :T, I mean, they are just the same note repeated all over again, okay that can sound good when the music is played together but how am I supposed to practice that?

I really don't want to give up this piece because besides these boring ones, the rest of it sounds awesome and its one of my favorites.

I take it you mean it sounds boring when doing it hands seperate?

If so, until you can do it right, you'll just have to suck it up, I'm afraid.

If you can manage it, why not do that bit hands together when it crops up.

That's a common problem in piano music I am afraid. The left hand tends to be boring practiced alone. So it is often practiced much less HS than the right. Which is not good....

That's why I had to start an etude for left hand only, my left felt ignored and left out so I wanted to give him some special attention.

I had luck picking pieces which demanded practice with the left hand, which were pretty nice, both in the sense of the sound itself and the playing. That kind of practice that I could "chain" together and pick references for HT, doing little to not effort when compared to these single notes because I feel so insecure playing HT, because there is no way to use references to find my way when playing HT :T

I wonder what you can do to those notes to make them interesting.  :)
