Christmas Impressive Solo Piano Pieces!
on: October 08, 2012, 12:13:05 PM
Hello everyone,

I'd like to find some Christmas pieces for piano which are impressive (I mean technically demanding), expressive and suitable for a Christmas piano recital. Any reccomendations would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance,
Evitaevita

depends on how you want to go about programing.

if you're looking for traditional fun pieces check out the mino kabasawa christmas piece arrangements

there are nice pieces by some of the standard composers

i'm working on this right now, and for all it's frustrating difficulties, when worked out, it's actually a blast to play

there are nice christmas pieces by Reger, Reinecke, Liszt, and transcriptions from Bach from his Christmas works, etc. just depends what direction you want to go.

You should try Jarrod Radnich's transcriptions of popular melodies here: https://www.jarrodradnich.com/store.html

If you search you can listen to them on youtube and they are pretty awesome!
Here is a trailer:

Hope I helped!

yep. glad someone else 'approves' lol. this actually got assinged to me last week at the copnclusion of the lesson. i'll play primo, my teacher will handle secundo. i feel so behind already! holy cow. i need to go practice this thing right now!....

it's fun piece for sure. i've spoken to other pianists thathave played it, they say consistently people like hearing it and request it year after year, it's one of those you can learn and pick up every holiday season and not disapoint. the edwards arrangement in particular (the one i posted). is quite good and very inexpensive.
