Have any members played this movement without flute that is written during final pages? What suggestions to make it work and melody to stand out?

Ives, himself, gives an ossia if the flute isn't used. Don't you have it in your part?

Yes I see it, hard to read it. Has anyone heard it? Can you really get the melody to shine?
