As Valentina Lisitsas manager, it is up to her to publicize Valentina more!  So she showed me this link!

Thanks dude!

Yes, she was practicing, taking a break now I guess. She must have finished the Rach... I have other clients, can't keep up with her all the time...

I also think that Valentina has a beautiful voice.

Better than Glen Goulds at least...  >:(

The astonishing obsession with Valentina Lisitsa here is might stand at least some chance of attaining a shred of credibility if only some reliable and credible evidence were provided as to what it is that might motivate it beyond a handful of responses from certain people who appear to be taken with aspects of her perceived attributes that seem to have no direct relationship with piano playing...

You certainly have a way with words...

Anyway, even though not a real fan, I must say that I respect a female pianist who does concentrate on playing instead of her looks. Practicing live in the internet in plain clothes and without heavy make-up is not what every female pianists today would do... And in general what I have seen her perform she dresses pretty concervative...

EDIT:
I would much rather see young girls deciding to become pianists because of Valentina than Yuja, no matter how well she plays in her "ran out of fabric" dresses...

Dang I freaking missed her Rach 3!

I just got home from piano lessons and I was screwing around with the first movement of the Rach 3 instead of watching her, damn it!   >:( >:( >:(

Well, the last bits of the last movement were nice...

Valentina versus Yuja...we are not speaking of their musical talent, but of the way they present themselvs. Well, I like both: Valentina's supreme elegance and class, but also Yuja (and Lola Astanova)'s trasgressive look. In short, they have personality...

It's not that I find Yuja's or Lola's style offensive or inappropriate in any way. I simply worry about young girls starting to think it is a necessity for success to be able to present themselves this way. There are probably many young talented piano students who do not possess the qualities required to look good in a tiny dress or have Lola's bust, but do possess the qualities to be an excellent pianist. So I wouldn't want them to think they might give up any ideas of a great career because they won't be able to sell themselves this way. So I feel Valentina is a pretty good role model, also with her self made success.

I got your point..anyway  Valentina herself is far from ugly!!!!

I wonder if such a stunning pianist like Myra Hess today would have a chance of success. But when I listen to her Appassionata's performance, I couldn't  care the less about her look...

Maybe if she was around today she might at least ditch those pearls. But probably those days she was pretty hip :)
