old recording I almost destroyed but I must have had a momment of sanity. this is also from my early days back at piano in 2010. Sometimes even if I am not totally disgusted with a recording I will 'sequester' my record of a performance until I can pass judgement on it/of it at a later time (usually a number of weeks to months to sometimes years!). This was an 'informal' performance so I did not play this from memory (though it was 'memorized' I was just not secure enough in my confidence to do so without a score when nervous). Again from my first semester back at the piano after a 5 year break from the instrument.

This short piece has moments of incredible beauty  I mainly took this little 2 page, minute or so long, piece up as a sort of etude as it really plays like one. The music from this movie is so pretty and I have plans to revisit the OST score again soon. I love Marianelli's work and I believe the music from this movie is some of his best piano writting (I have his score from Atonement that I need to look at though before I can say that for certain).

my remarks on the piece, and about the composer:

Thanks God, this performance escaped from your insane habit to destroy your recordings....
The piece is so charming, and you play it with the fluent grace and intensity that is getting more and more your distinctive trait...Thanks for sharing!!!!!

This piece makes me think of a beautiful fleeting moment of rapturous beauty -there is no reflection or looking back -everything is in the moment, everything encapsulated in dramatic urgency-so apt for a filmscore- I like Marges descriptive of 'fluent grace' for your rendition also -can't really improve on that!

It is great that you have sparked an interest in Marianelli -I am eager to discover more.
When a search is in progress, something will be found.

thank you for the kind remarks! marianelli is a fantastic composer, and i think he could hold his own against his non film score contemporaries as well. he is worth exploring. i hope you will.  my plans in the future are to delve a little deeper into his work.

many thanks again for listening and for the compliment :)

emill, your thoughts and comments in response to music is always so great and refreshing, to know that you liked what I was trying to convey makes me feel so good (knowing how much wonderful music and playing you hear on a regular basis makes it all the more touching to me that you sincerely enjoyed the recording :) ). i believe your observation is also spot on, 'spontaneity' i think is the word i was sometimes at a loss for when trying to describe one of the many 'feelings of' that I believe the music contains. thank you for that description!

And to David, as I said in the message I sent you, really, thank you again for your praise and encouragement. This has been a most 'motivating' upload.

I am grateful to all that have listened and commented as I needed a bit of a morale push as of late, and this was just what I need to help spur me onward and upward.
