The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. How to read Treble clef in Bass clef
on: October 26, 2012, 02:32:38 PM
Hi,

my question is how to play the notes in the attachment. There is the Bass Clef for the left hand and an Treble clef sign.

So what is correct to play?
Is the interval played as c' and g' (in One-Line Octave) or C and G (Great Octave)?

Thank you for your help

You read it just the way it is written when a clef is placed in the opposite clef. In other words, it is middle c and g (a 5th). You will often find this in music. There will be another bass clef in the music when you are to return to the bass clef with your left hand. Hope this helps.
