Listen to lots of piano music from different composers and different performers.  Try to learn as much as you can about the instrument, including history, theory, etc... do this on your own time, not just when your teacher instructs you to do so.

Too often, I have students who just want me to give them pieces to work on.  That is the norm.  If you truly want to be a good musician, you have to get more involved with it.

Be humble, ask lots of questions, practice with purpose and be extremely patient.  You could play until you're 90 years old and only scratch the surface of the complexities of this instrument.

If you're looking for some more specifics, shoot me a message and I'd be happy to give you some other suggestions.

All the best.   :)

~ if you want to know what I'm working on.. just ask me!

While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
