five hour energy
on: November 07, 2012, 01:01:55 AM
Has anyone here used those energy drinks... consistently... for a while?  Any side effects?

I've taken two five hour energys and a Monster all in one go, and I felt fine.

But no, I don't drink energy drinks too often, they're so god  damn expensive!

Possible side effects:

1) Irrational attraction to middle aged married female pianists

2) Dislike of Bach

3) Tendency to use very large font faces.

Hey what the heck?!  All of that is freaking normal!

With the exception of using very large fonts...

Rachmaninoff land?

Except Rachmaninoff himself never had any of the three side effects I mentioned. (Nor did Scriabin or Vine in case you're thinking of relocating)

Hey, that's just the name of the planet!  It has nothing to do with the composer!

I've become tolerant of caffeine.  I don't want to take more.

So I'll consider taking something unknown in an energy drink instead.  ::)  It's probably massive doses of vitamin B though.  That's what I've heard.

YOu could have a heart attack

That would be bad.

YOu could become psychotic

which might even be worse.

You could impair your porprioception which would be very bad for a pianist.

Someone mentioned yerba mate to me once, but it just makes me sleepy.

You could try a nootropic, (smart drug) but they generally aren't very well studied. I have piracetam, took it for a little while a couple years back, and generally felt agitated  - like had to be doing something -slight hind of speediness.

With the energy drinks, you'd be weary to steer clear of artificial sweeteners. HFCS isn't great either but having one every now and then won't kill you

Well at least if you're dead you wont do anything embarassing, or end up in a loony bin or jail.
