no not to each other,....(see video)? i will be researching this as i claim ingnorance to this claim. could be totally made up for humor, but then again these guys have had some pretty smart jokes before, so it would not be outside the total realm of possibility, and back then i guess it wasn't such a big deal/fairly common?

wait for it....lol

it's quick but around the 1:00 mark. funnnier if you wait for the set up from the beginning

JS Bach's first wife, Maria Barbara Bach (nee Bach) was his second cousin.

Rachmaninoff's (only) wife, Natalia Rachmaninova (nee Satina) was his first cousin.

Stravinsky's first wife, Yekaterina Stravinsky (nee Nossenko) was his first cousin.

In Bach's time that would not have neen unusual.  The Russian Orthodox church frowned upon, but did not strictly prohibit, first cousin marriages, and both Stravinsky and Rachnmaninoff married in the face of family opposition.

Marrying a cousin is legal in most parts of the world and 100 years ago it was quite common. So it probably wasn't such a big deal. If the family opposed it might have been for other reasons...
