Why am I such an idiot

Ok. As well as learning piano, I'm studying Japanese and its a lot of fun.
Last semester with some steady work I got 99%.
But the problem with 99% is there's really no where to go except down.
I've just spent the last 3-4 weeks in a constant state of panic over the last two exams. One oral one written. I thought once the final exam was over I'd be better but I still feel sick with anxiety.
Why am I so stupid? Last year I did German but only got about 90% and somehow the pressure wasn't there, although I was still nervous, in a good way before exams.
I think next semster will be much much harder than the last two, so maybe that will cure me.
Anybody else have prolonged anxiety over exams? i used to be so laissez faire!

I failed almost every exam I had in college and I'm still alive. Heck, I even have a decent job. Only explanation I can come up with for this is extreme, almost ludicrous helpings of luck.

I never used to get such good marks and it never worried me. I told my husband that from now on I'd aim for just an HD (85%+) and he looked aghast and said "HDs are very common!" and I said "When did you ever get an HD" "Oh never I guess" and he's head of Chemistry at this particular Uni. I wont tell you which one in case I embarass him professionally. So it didn't do him any harm not having a wonderful academic record, at least not in the long run.

I know all that, but I'm still an idiot. But feeling better today. Now I should concentrate on piano and try not to think about all the things I might have got wrong in the exam!

It's a long time since I sat one. I did take a nap in the middle of one once, though, so I guess I was pretty laid back about them.
