hmm. the fantasie op 28 (it isn't called a sonata, but it is certainly put together/constructed like one, a compact single movement one, but a 'sonata' nonetheless by some definitions i.e.  it has an exposition, thematic development, and reprise), interestingly, Scriabin himself was not too fond of the work, the story goes that he once overheard a friend playing an interesting piece and asked what it was. The friend answered that it was Scriabin’s own Fantaisie, to which the composer responded with a perplexed, “What Fantaisie?” ;D

Probably his 3rd... and 4th... and 5th and 8th and 9th and also 10th.

Oh did I have to pick just one?

I think his 9th sonata would sound better on an out of tune piano.

The 8th one has that really strange 4ths passage that keeps coming up.  So mysterious! That should be playing in the background when someone's deep in a mine looking for treasure haha.

I thoroughly enjoy the 2nd and 4th.  Of the later ones... they're all really good, but I'd say #8 or the White Mass.

If I had to say just one, then I would go with No. 3 right now. I just love it so much. <3

I love Sonata Op.66 No.8 too.

Here, played on Scriabin's own Bechstein:

Definitely number 4. So ethereal, gorgeous, captures a sweetly melodic and atmospheric mood ever so gracefully and vivaciously....

Didn't like it at first, but completely fell in LOVE with it the second time.

Funny how my listening habits work!

Like others here, I have also grown very fond of No. 8 and it is certainly the one that intrigues me the most. I was wondering what particular recordings of No. 8 do you all find the most exciting and interesting?

I enjoy this piece most as recorded by Vladimir Ashkenazy, and this was such a HUGE surprise because I don't particularly seek out anything played by him, but the Scriabin set was a gift and No. 8 was the surprise of the set. Any other good performances I should listen to?

I like No. 8 and No. 9 about equally, and both are very interesting and intriguing. They are about the only Scriabin pieces I can handle though. In general, I prefer Ravel.

Thanks for this link Enrique! No.8 really grew into my ears and in someway is an 'addictive' Sonata. Mesmerizing beauty.
